“Townie” Storybook Trail

Located at the Clinton Public Library, Townie’s Tale features an art installation of Townie Terrapin with a child friendly storybook trail that tells the story of Clinton’s history at this unique Clinton landmark from the perspective of the terrapin. Kids of all ages will love him as he was built with art pieces from kids in the community from elementary school age up to high school. Local author Ray Oliver wrote the story while local illustrator Joey Smith created the magical imagery. Students from the Historic Downtown Clinton Youth Board raised funds for this project to plant trees along with build the art installation and create the storybook trail. 6th graders at South Clinton Elementary came up with the concept of the art sculpture and helped us research materials for the project.
